Terms and Conditions

By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site or any related service.

This is a privately owned reference site, not a government body, Sheriff, jail, corrections department, or private investigation firm. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers consumer-reporting services. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Purpose of the Site

The site points visitors toward resources relevant to Jefferson County, New York booking, custody, court, and records questions. It stores no official records and cannot confirm custody, release a person, file documents, or provide legal advice. Public-record access remains governed by the source agency and New York law, including the process described in Public Officers Law ยง89.

  • Do not interfere with another person's use of the site.

FCRA-Prohibited Uses

The site is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports, credit reports, or screening services. You agree not to use information from the site or a linked tool for any purpose covered by the FCRA, including a decision about another person's credit, employment, insurance, tenant status, licensing, government-program eligibility, or similar eligibility determination.

  • Do not use information to make a hiring, firing, promotion, or work-assignment decision.
  • Do not use information for housing or tenant evaluation.

Links and Search Providers

The site can link to government portals, courts, news outlets, and outside search services. An external link is not an endorsement or a warranty of the outside service's content, data handling, price, availability, or results. Review each provider's own terms and privacy practices before using it.

No Warranties

The site and its content are provided as is and as available. No promise is made that a page, phone number, office practice, search result, government record, or external service is complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, or free of error. Custody and court information can change, and nothing here is an official statement by a government office.

Liability and Indemnity

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its operators are not liable for damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site or an external service. You agree to defend and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims arising out of your use, misuse, or violation of these terms, including reasonable legal costs where allowed.

Ownership and Changes

The site's text, graphics, logos, and code belong to the site or its content partners and may not be copied, distributed, or modified without written permission except as law allows. These terms may be changed at any time. Updated terms take effect when posted, and access may be limited, suspended, or revoked at any time without notice.

New York Law and Severability

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes must be brought in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in New York. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect and the affected provision will be adjusted only as needed.
